If the Bosch washing machine produces an F 43 error, first of all you need to figure out what the code means, how to remove the error and restore the machine to working on its own.
In this article we will consider the main signs and causes of the error. And also tell you what to do if the F43 code is lit on the board of your SMA.
What the error means: decryption and signs
When the CM shows error F43, this indicates that the engine is not spinning or the drum is blocked.
The main symptom by which it is also possible to recognize an error (if the code is not displayed) is that the machine rotates the drum with force and at the same time literally jumps in place.
Causes of the error
On the control panel, the value F 43 was displayed? Most likely, one of the following reasons was the fault:
- The bearings are jammed.
- The tachogenerator SM failed.
- The triac of the control unit broke.
- The drum is overloaded or blocked by something.
How to fix the error: DIY repair
The error requires immediate repair, as it may be due to the breakdown of important components of the Bosch washing machine.
Having found the trouble codes, the service center masters carry out diagnostics and the corresponding set of actions. Based on their experience, we can conclude that the solution to the problem is as follows:
- It is necessary to check the drum with your own hands to see if it rotates freely.
- Replace bearings.
- Repair (reprogram) or replace the control unit (electronic controller).
- Replace tachogenerator.
- Repair engine.
Important! It should be understood that the error is critical: the motor may have overheated, and it urgently needs to be repaired or replaced. Do not operate the washer with error F43 - this could result in a short circuit and possible fire.
Independent actions
It’s worth starting with small things that can be done without a special tool and experience: check the drum for overload or find an object that blocks the rotation of the drum, if that is the reason.
To check if the machine is overloaded, stop the wash, remove some of the laundry and restart the program. If the code disappears, then the error reset was successful.
Foreign Item Retrieval
Any small and not so object can block the drum. The masters, sharing their experience, say that in their practice, the drum in the Bosch washers was blocked due to debris, small coins, buttons, cufflinks and even socks and tights.
To confirm that a foreign object is preventing the drum from working, you will hear a characteristic knock or noise. Bosch malfunction codes accompanying this malfunction do not always appear.
Typically, the item is:
- At the bottom of the tank or drum.
- Between the drum and the walls of the tank.
- Wound up on a drum.
To find out where the interference is located, unplug the machine and turn the drum by hand. By knocking, you will almost immediately find where the item is. If you could not find it immediately, arm yourself with a flashlight to carefully examine the space behind the tank wall.
Dismantling a Bosch washing machine
If you could not remove the item indiscriminately from the washing machine, get to the tank through the back wall - remove the back panel, find the heater in the drum and remove it (at the same time see if there is a lot of limescale on it).
If this does not help, you need to remove the pulley by unscrewing the pulley bolt for this. Having removed a pulley, return fixture into place, only do not twist it too much.
Next, the shaft and drum must be shifted relative to the tank in order to gain access to the item. To do this, you need a hammer - gently hit the cut of the shaft.
To prevent damage, use a thick gasket before striking with a hammer.
Having shifted the drum, scroll it again - find and remove the object through the hole from which you removed the heater. If you can’t succeed with your hands, make a hook from an ordinary wire.
In this video you will find answers to the remaining questions on extracting items from SM:
Collect the CM, plug it into the electrical outlet, and start the test wash. If the error reset did not occur, and the machine still shows the code F43 on the display, a major repair will be needed.
How to fix a mistake if you need to replace bearings, repair an engine or circuit board is best known to specialists. Do not take on such complex work - they require experience, effort and a special tool.
