It often happens that the freezer does its job well, and the main camera cools poorly. The first sign by which such a problem can be noticed is that perishable products quickly “disappear”. If the refrigerator does not cool well, then milk, desserts, meat will deteriorate 5 times faster than usual. This is an important signal that indicates that the refrigerator has become worse than freezing and may need repair.
It is not difficult to determine what broke in the refrigerator if it stopped cooling food, but it is worth considering the type of its design. In refrigerators with one and two compressors, the reasons that they freeze slightly can be different. The main camera does not cool, and the freezer works - what to check
When the upper chamber does not cool, you may encounter two problems: spoiled foods or high wear on the main parts of the refrigerator. When one of the systems does not work, increased load is applied to the other nodes. Therefore, if you notice that the camera does not cool, but heats, it is worth taking urgent repair measures.
To exclude breakage, first check the following points:
- How tight is the door. Most likely, the camera is not closed tightly enough. Change the position of the products on the shelves, arrange the containers and pans, and the temperature will soon return to normal. If you notice ice or a snow "coat" on the wall, do a full defrost - after switching on, the work of the equipment should normalize.
- Fan operation. Often in two-compressor models, the fan blades can freeze, which blocks its rotation. As a result, the camera works, but does not cool, because the cold is not pumped. To detect a fan breakdown, listen to the operation of the equipment - usually the cooler operates quietly. If the fan is silent or, on the contrary, it creaks strongly due to the fact that the blades are breaking on ice, it is worth thinking about defrosting for 10 hours.
Important! Defrost equipment for at least 10 hours - less time will not be enough to completely thaw the ice, and the problem will not be solved.
If after checking the door and the fan it turned out that everything is in order, or defrosting did not help, then qualified assistance from the master is required. Disconnect the refrigerator from the network and contact the service or try to find out the cause of the breakdown yourself.
Why the camera does not work in the refrigerator

Not every malfunction has “symptoms” by which it can be identified. The failure of the camera can also provoke such failures:
- Start relay failure. It is usually caused by natural wear of a part or a power surge. Part replacement required.
- Capillary system obstruction or filter drier clogged. Oil circulates in the system, sometimes it causes a clogging of the capillary tube, which interferes with the normal circulation of freon. If the master confirms the problem, the oil and freon change.
- Air temperature sensor failure refrigeration compartment or evaporator sensor (for electronic models). In this case, the control board does not receive signals about the temperature in the chamber, therefore the compressor does not start, the temperature rises. Need to replace a failed node.
- Temperature controller breakdown (for mechanical models). The situation is similar - the compressor does not start due to incorrect temperature readings. Replacing a part will solve the problem.
