Samsung washing machine sometimes gives error codes UC, 9C, 9E1, 9E2, which indicate problems with electricity.
These codes appear on different Samsung models and signal a single problem. Partial differences in the details are possible.
To know how to fix the problem and remove the error, you first need to understand the causes of the Samsung SMA failure.
When an error occurs
To determine what a UC error means, you need to find out when it is shown on the display. Samsung washing machine gives an error:
- After the start of washing, when the hatch is blocked, and you press the start button;
- After the first set of water;
- After heating the heater;
- During the spin cycle, when the drum is just starting to spin.
Error 9C on the board may appear at any other time during operation. The solution to the problem depends on the correct determination of the cause.
What are the error codes on the scoreboard
Error 9E1, 9E2, 9C, UC indicates power problems. If the washer encounters an increase or decrease in voltage, then during the washing process it shows an error.
Error 9E2 lights up on the washing machine display when an abnormal voltage is detected for 30 seconds.
Models of Samsung washing machines, released before 2012, did not respond when voltage surges from 175 to 270 V. Today, models that have ultra-sensitive line filters are produced. Therefore, the question of how to fix the problem when the 9E1 indication occurs, was faced by many residents of small towns.
With a short-term power surge, the UC code disappears by itself. The washing machine continues to run the washing program automatically.
Why an error occurs
When 9E2 lights up on the washing machine display, the reasons for this are:
- Malfunctions in the outlet;
- Use of an improper or low-quality extension cord;
- A sharp surge in voltage;
- Non-standard voltage in the network;
- Short-term malfunction in the control unit of the machine;
- Problems in the control module.
When the UC error is on, it can often be fixed on its own. Sometimes it is required to involve a master in the work, because a breakdown has occurred.
How to fix the problem
You can reset the error by simply “rebooting” the washer - after that it will be determined whether the fault code will reappear. To do this, you need:
- Disconnect the washer by pressing the appropriate button and unplugging the cord;
- Wait 5 minutes;
- Plug in and restart the washing machine.
If after that the machine works and no longer issues the UC code, then it was a short-term voltage failure. If the code lights up again on the display, then you need to continue to look for the cause in order to fix the problem.
What to do if the previous steps did not help
To eliminate the displayed UC code, you need to:
- Check the power supply and its voltage. To this end, it is better to contact an electrician;
- Install a voltage stabilizer to compensate for voltage drops;
- Check the condition of the socket and wiring;
- Remove the extension cord (if the machine is connected to the network through it) and connect to the outlet directly. The outlet must be protected against moisture so that you will not be shocked.
If after all checks the washing machine continues to indicate a failure in the mains, then the problem is in the faulty control module. But here you can’t do without calling the master.
