Walmart, which is the largest US retailer and wholesaler, announced in its latest press release the launch of a new customer delivery service. Now the couriers of the distribution network will be able to leave food directly in the refrigerators of their users, who will monitor this process through video surveillance cameras in online mode.
A service called Walmart InHome starts this fall. First, new delivery will be able to appreciate the residents of three cities in the United States - Vero Beach, Pittsburgh and Kansas City. And if it is successfully implemented, such a function will become available to all Americans.
There are a lot of similar goods delivery services in America, but all of them deliver to the door of the house or to the trunk of the buyer’s cars. Therefore, the Walmart trading network went further and now, with the permission of the client, will be able to deliver food directly to the refrigerator.
So that Americans could safely use the Walmart InHome service, the company took all safety measures and developed a simple delivery scheme. An employee of the company on the day of order enters the customer’s house using a one-time code, arranges the products in shelves in the refrigerator and leaves. The buyer, on-line, monitors the delivery process using a video surveillance camera on the chest of an employee of the company, so he can freely observe and control all his actions and movements around the house.
The sales network assured that such a service will be carried out exclusively by trusted employees who have been working at Walmart for at least a year. In addition, Walmart has already posted their profiles on its official website containing personal information for review.
According to analysts, the Walmart InHome service has every chance of becoming the most popular form of product delivery in America and even overtaking an online giant like Amazon.
