The self-diagnosis system of the Bosch machine detected a breakdown and generated error F31. What this error means: the permissible water level in the tank is exceeded. As a result, you may notice a leak under the typewriter.
Note! Error code F 31 is considered critical. This means that you should not use the Bosch washing machine before fixing the problem.
Code F31: Causes of Malfunction
During operation, the Bosch washing machine can refill water several times. Depending on the installed program, this is considered normal.
But what if the washer non-stop picks up water? Urgently take measures, otherwise a breakdown will lead not only to failure of parts, but also to flooding of neighbors.
As soon as you notice that the display shows error F31, do the following:
- Stop the program with the button on the control panel. Try turning on the drain mode.
- Disconnect the CM Bosch from the mains, turn off the water supply inlet valve. Using a drain filter, drain the water and remove the laundry.
Attention! If you notice a leak near the machine, first of all, disconnect it from the electricity. In extreme cases, lower the switch on the switchboard.
Now start troubleshooting:
- Siphon effect. As a result of the formation of rarefied pressure in the sewer, self-draining can occur. The wash Bosch in this case begins to re-fill the water. It turns out a continuous drain-recruitment process. The system generates error F 31. A special valve that fits on the drain hose can help.
- Improper installation of the hose also leads to self-draining. A pressostat notifies about a shortage of water, SM Bosch starts its intake again, and F31 is displayed on the panel.
If the checks did not help to remove the error, move on.
Troubleshooting and solutions
How to fix the breakdown and solve the problem yourself? Check the following components of the Bosch washing machine:
- Pressostat. This is a pressure switch that monitors the amount of water in the tank. Therefore, when SM Bosch continues to recruit endlessly, it makes sense to check the health of the pressostat.
The cause of the breakdown could be a worn membrane that responds to an increase in pressure in the tank, or the contacts are burnt out.
What to do: immediately inspect the cable loop that connects the pressure switch to the control module. If there is a violation, try isolating the area. Otherwise, replace the entire cable.
Inspect the pressure switch hose; it could become clogged. Lastly, check the pressure switch with the tester, if necessary, install a new device.
- Inlet valve. Used to draw water into the Bosch washing machine.
Due to prolonged use, the valve membrane is broken. A sign of breakage is considered to be a constant intake of water, even when the SM is turned off. The error code F31 is displayed on the board.
Replacing the problem and resetting the error will help replace the valve. After disconnecting the Bosch washer from the network and communications, remove and inspect the valve. It is better to replace the element immediately.
- Drain pump. The device pumps water from the Bosch washing machine.
Error F31 can also indicate a pump failure. How to check it:
- Remove the drain pump from the Bosch machine.
- Remove the screws that secure the housing to the cochlea.
- Remove the impeller motor from the scroll.
- Inspect the impeller; a thread may have wrapped around it, which prevents the pump from functioning normally.
- Connect the multimeter probes to the pump terminals.
- If the resistance is 0, then the pump is faulty. You need to install a new device.
Watch the video on the topic:
- The electronic module is the brain of SM Bosch. It controls all the processes in the washing machine.
A module may fail sooner or later. The reason for this is high humidity in the room where the washer is located, or sudden voltage drops in the network.
Inspect module wiring for integrity. If the reason is in the module itself, it may be necessary to replace or repair.
